Front Cover Page Creation

Initially, I placed my chosen image for my front cover and changed the background colour to black.
Then, I place text in front of my image in large text which reads "Jordan Lloyd//Exclusive interview". This phrase is short and contains a buzz word ("Exclusive") which would attract an audience. I set the font as 'Rockwell Extra Bold' and made the font size 214.68 as this size is big enough to be read from a distance and fits perfectly between both sides of the page. I also put several effects on this text such as 'Drop Shadow', 'Inner Glow', 'Outer Glow', 'Outer Shadow' and 'Stroke'. This helped my text become more eye-catching to readers.

Next, I added extra text next to my image to show what is inside the magazine. I wrote names of actual famous artists (Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé and Justin Bieber) in a font that is quite large (70) to attract the attention of their respective fans. I also added a small amount of extra information underneath each name about why each artist is in the magazine. The font size of this is 40 due to the fact that it is not as important as the names. Also, underneath this text, I wrote "3 Free Posters!". This is, again, in size 40 font. I made the word "Free" bold due to the fact that it is a buzz word and added an exclamation mark at the end of this phrase to crate a sense of excitement. The font for all of this text is called "Didot"and this will be my house style throughout the creation of my music magazine. I then placed images of actual celebrities underneath this text to indicate that these are the 3 posters. I put a white 'Stroke' effect around these images to allow them to stand out against the black background.
Now, I have placed a barcode onto my front cover as this is a common convention for a music magazine. I also made a masthead with my magazine's name ( Tu♫e). I made this white to make it contrast against the black background. I made the letter 'N' a quaver as it is associated to music.
I have now added text to the header of my cover page which reads "The Greatest pop magazine of all time". The word 'Greatest' is a buzz word and would therefore attract attention. The text font is Myriad Pro to differentiate it from the rest of the text on the page. It is size 42 due to the fact that magazines such as "Q" do not have dominating headers either. I also added a black footer to my cover using the rectangle tool. I added text in this footer that gives insight as to what is inside the magazine and it also uses celebrity names as buzz words. I then added text above my barcode that says the price of my music magazine (£3.00). This is a similar price to "Q" magazine that is £3.99.
