Conventions- Puffs

The puffs on the cover of my music magazine will include posters. This will appeal to the target audience of my music magazine due to the fact that these puffs are music related. I will have "Posters!" written in a text box above these as a buzz word to catch people's attention. A music magazine that I have researched ('Kerrang!') commonly has posters on the cover of its magazine.

Conventions-Price of my Music Magazine

The price of my music magazine will be £3:00 which is a similar price to some magazines that I have researched such as "NME" and "Rolling Stones". This is due to the fact that my music magazine will be geared towards the same target audience as both of these magazines (teenagers). I will display the price on my cover above the barcode as this is a convention of a music magazine.

Conventions-Masthead of my music magazine

The title of my music magazine will be the word "Tune". This is due to the fact that this is a short and snappy word that is associated with the pop genre. The "n" in the word will also be a musical note (quaver) to further connect my title with music. The font size of my masthead will be big to therefore be eye-catching to a potential audience. The colour will be black to contrast against the white background of my magazine. The title will look similar to this:

Best selection for the Double Page Spread for my Music Magazine

 Here are the three shots that I believe are most suitable for the double page spread for my music magazine:

I think that this shot is too far of a distance to be used for the contents page as there is too much space above and below my actor. 

I again think that this shot is at too far of a distance, however, I do like the way my actor is stood in this shot.

I will use this shot for my double page spread as my actor is at a good distance from the camera. I also believe that this shot is suitable for the double page spread because I have the ability to place text for this page to the left of my actor.

Best selection for the Contents Page of my Music Magazine

Here are the three shots which I think are most suitable for the contents page of my magazine (These shots were taken as landscape and therefore, I will have to rotate my selected image before using the shot for my magazine. Also, I will add more bricks to the background for it to fit the contents):

Although I like this shot, this image has too much free space to the left of my actor. Therefore, I will not be using this in my music magazine.

Again, I like this picture. However, I prefer the gesture my actor has in the next picture and due to that, this picture will not be used in my magazine.

This is the picture that I will be using for my contents page. This is due to the fact that I like the gesture my actor has and I also believe that the posture in this picture if good.

Best selection for Front cover of my Music Magazine

Here are all of the shots which I believe to be most suitable for the front cover of my music magazine. I will now analyse them to decide which one will be used for my front cover:

I believe this shot is at too far of a distance to be used as my front cover, meaning that it would not stand out very well. Therefore, I will not be using this shot for my music magazine.

I also believe that I have taken this shot at too far of a distance which is why I am not using it as my magazine cover.

Again, this shot is at a far distance and I have decided to not use this for my magazine cover.

This shot is at a more suitable distance, however, I do not like the posture of my actor in this photograph.

I really like the angle and lighting on this image but I would not use this as my cover due to the fact that I will not be able to place text easily around it and because of this, I will not be using the image for my cover page. 

This is the image which I will be using for the cover of my music magazine. I really like the angle of this shot and also the position my actor is stood in. I believe that the shot conveys that the genre of my magazine is pop music through the mise en scene of this picture.
